RESULTS OF THE 1ST INTERNATIONAL BALTIC PIANO COMPETITION

After the finals, on the 17th December 2007, the Jury, lead by Prof. Piotr Paleczny, has awarded following main prizes, prizes of distinction and special prizes:

MAIN PRIZES
1st prize 7000 € Evgeny STARODUBTSEV (Russia)
2nd prize 3500 € Vitaly PISARENKO (Ukraine)
3rd prize 2000 € Kirył KEDUK (Belarus)

3 equal prizes of distinction:
Carles MARIN (Spain)
Arisa SAKAI (Japan)
Edgar WIERSOCKI (Belarus)

Special prize for the best performance of F. Chopin’s compositions 1300 €
Evgeny STARODUBTSEV (Russia)

Special prize for the best performance of K. Szymanowski’s compositions 1300 €
Evgeny STARODUBTSEV (Russia)

Moreover there have been two prizes not stated in the competition regulations:
Radio Gdansk has awarded a prize in form of a recital in its studio. The prize was given to Kirył KEDUK.

The Baltic Center of Culture awarded a prize in form of a recital in the Old City Hall.
The prize was given to Vitaly PISARENKO.
